Immune-Boosting Juice Recipe

By  |  0 Comments

Every one I seem to speak to at the moment is either sick or recovering from a cold, bronchitis or flu!

There seems to be lots of it going around but that doesn’t mean that YOU will get sick. You need to ensure that you’re getting lots of rest, drinking plenty of fluids and most importantly – consuming the correct nutrients to support your immune system.

Key nutrients for the immune system are zinc, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D and iron. These vitamins and minerals are essential for producing immune cells and antibodies, protecting the mucous membranes that line your sinuses and respiratory system, providing antioxidants and stimulating the immune system.

For some people, getting all these nutrients in by eating fruits and veggies can be a struggle and that’s why juices are fantastic – you can literally juice up all the veggies and then have them in one go! I’m such a juicing advocate as a daily veggie juice can really benefit our overall health & wellbeing.

So here’s my immune-boosting juice recipe…

  • 6 carrots (high in vitamin A)
  • Thumb of ginger (anti-viral and immune-stimulating properties)
  • 1 lemon (high in vitamin C and quercetin which have antioxidant & anti-histamine properties)
  • 2 kiwis (high in vitamin C)
  • 1 whole cucumber (contains vitamin A and C)
  • 3 sprigs of kale (a great source of iron, vitamin C, B vitamins & vitamin C)

This recipe makes approx. 2 serves.

Hope you enjoy this amazing juice and that it helps to keep the bugs away!

Don’t forget to share the recipe with any loved ones who may be struggling through this cold & flu season.
