Yummy Dressing To Zing Up Your Salads

Whenever I suggest to people that they need to eat more veggies and explain how great salads are, I often get some groaning and then something about how boring salads are!

Salads do not need to be boring – they just need a bit of zinging up! It’s all about the dressing and adding that extra bit of flavour.

Here’s my favourite salad dressing that is both nutritious and tasty. You can also use it to mix through beans, rice or quinoa. It contains Turmeric which is an amazing herb that is anti-inflammatory, helps detox the liver, has antioxidant properties and is also great for reducing high cholesterol.


  • 2 tbsp of Extra Virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp of organic apple cider vinegar (I recommend the Bragg brand)
  • Pinch of sea salt or Himalayan pink salt
  • Some cracked pepper
  • 1/2 tsp of turmeric
  • Squeeze of fresh lemon


  • Mix all the ingredients together in a jar and stir quite vigorously until mixed thoroughly.
