How To Stay Healthy When Life Gets Chaotic

By  |  0 Comments

Life for me has nothing short of insane for the past few weeks which is why you haven’t heard that much from me!

I’m in the midst of organizing my wedding which is happening at the end of the year, running a busy practice and business, managing a household as well as preparing the house for the arrival of family next month. Most days consist of running around from place to place, having endless phone and email conversations, and constantly writing lists!

The thing is – I know I’m not the only one who is SUPER busy as everyone I speak to seems to be the same! Life is crazy for most of us these days.

I just wanted to share my 5 tips to staying strong and healthy when life gets insane.

So here goes:

  1. A daily super smoothie which is packed full of key nutrients that help to keep my immune system strong and my brain focused. I love adding lots of superfoods such as maca powder, cacao, bee pollen and spirulina. Here is the recipe to my Super-Duper Breakfast Smoothie.
  2. Make time for exercise as it is so important to move your body. Exercise helps to reduce stress, keep mood balanced and improve cardiovascular function. I’m loving Power Vinyasa at the moment as I come out feeling like I have actually done a workout but equally I feel relaxed and energised due to all the breathing techniques. The room is heated to 30 degrees so it really aids detoxification too.
  3. Lots of adrenal support! Our adrenal glands can take a bit of a bashing when we are stressed as it is their job to pump out the stress hormone cortisol which helps our bodies adapt to stressful situations. There are some fantastic herbs and nutrients that help support our adrenal glands such as vitamin C, B vitamins and adaptogen herbs like Siberian Ginseng, Withania, Rhodiola and Licorice.
  4. Ask for help and support – even if this means just calling a girlfriend to have a chat and talk things through. How does that old saying go… “a problem shared is a problem halved”.  Sometimes the ‘I can do it ALL!’ approach can have a detrimental effect on your health so don’t be afraid to ask for help if you need it!
  5. Get outside into the sunshine as being stuck inside in front of the computer all day can really zap the life out of you and completely drain your energy. Having some time-out from your busy schedule can really revitalise you.

Just remember – if you don’t look after yourself then you could run the risk of getting sick and then you’ll be no good to anyone.

Making some small changes can go a long way in helping to keep you in tip-top condition!
